On Wednesday, March 6, many Episcopal Churches and other Christian churches will be taking part in the traditional Ash Wednesday Service, which marks the beginning of Lent. At Prince of Peace Episcopal Church, Lay Pastoral Leader, Mary Anderson will take the traditional Ash Wednesday practice of the imposition of ashes from inside of church buildings out to the people on the streets of Sterling. Ashes will be distributed at the corner of Phelps St. and South 2nd Ave, in front of Prince of Peace Church, between Noon and 1 pm. A free boxed lunch will also be available. Ashes to Go is an opportunity to receive Prayer with distribution of Ashes. We offer the opportunity to remember our faith to those whose schedules make it hard to stop and pray with others on Ash Wednesday. The ashes received remind us of our need for God.
